IICA's direct technical cooperation in Chile

The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Chile strengthened institutional capacities in rural extension, training nearly 1,000 professionals in programs such as the Local Development and Irrigation Program and the System of Incentives for Agro-environmental Sustainability. Activities in water resource management stand out, such as the Irrigation System with Clay Vessels in Araucanía, which reduces water consumption by 70%, and advances in the Rice Cultivation Intensification System, which improved productivity and integrated this crop into the Sectoral Strategic Plan for Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change. In agriculture 4.0, it promoted agri-food digitalization with the AgriExtApp application for remote consulting in the Caribbean.
