IICA Technical Cooperation in El Salvador

The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in El Salvador promoted the role of rural women with greater participation in projects, reactivated coffee growing through the Central American Program for the Integrated Management of Coffee Rust (PROCAGICA) with the use of technical assistance and acquisition of inputs for producers, and consolidated a regional agenda on coffee production in the context of the Central American Integration System (SICA). It supported the MAG in strengthening its inspection system, to manage the equivalence of sanitary inspection systems for poultry products with the United States. Finally, the Agroforestry Systems Adapted to the Central American Dry Corridor Project (AGRO-INNOVA) promoted technological innovations in demonstration plots, making efficient use of soil and water, with fruit and vegetable production systems focused on food security.
